For a detailed listing and description of all culture bound syndromes, use the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders: DSM-5. This book is in the Reference collection at each campus library (Call number - REF RC455.2 .C4 D536 2013). The Conway campus library also has a book in Reference entitled The Culture-Bound Syndromes. This book is available at REF GN296 .C835 1985. All Reference books must remain in the library, but they can be photocopied. Information on select culture bound syndromes can also be found through HGTC Library's research databases. Go to the library website, www.hgtc.edu/library, and select the Databases tab. Choose A-Z Databases. Here you will find links to several research databases. Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection database would be a good one to use for this topic. Remember, you will need your H number to access any research database from off campus.
