In print books, the library currently has some dog reference books with information on Pit Bulls. However, you may not find Pit Bull in the index. Consider looking the dog up under the names American Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Though there are technically subtle differences between the breeds, even experts may have difficulty determining which is which by sight alone.
Consider the following books:
The Encyclopedia of Dog Breeds - SF422 .D43 2011
The Complete Dog Book - SF426 .C66 2006
For online resources, consider the news databases for newspaper articles on the public debate over (allegedly) "aggressive breeds." Also, search the issues databases for different viewpoints on the subject. Of the issues databases, SIRS Issues Researcher and Points of View Reference Center return many relevant results on this topic, but please do not feel that you must limit your search to only those resources.
