Yes, but the length of time you can check it out for depends on the edition your professor uses. The 8th edition of Literature: Reading, Reacting, Writing is on Reserve and can only be checked out for three hours, and it must stay in the library. However, there are older editions of this textbook in the stacks. For example, the Georgetown campus library has the 7th edition available to check out for three weeks. You run the risk, however, of having to search in the older edition to find the sections related to your assignment (i.e., page 300 in the 8th edition is not the same page in the 7th).
